Thanks to the carelessness of a cute little dog, newlyweds Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin are killed in a freak auto accident. Upon arriving in the outer offices of Heaven, the couple finds that, thanks to a century's worth of bureaucratic red tape, they're on a long celestial waiting list. Before they can earn their wings, Davis and Baldwin must occupy their old house as ghosts for the next fifty years. Alas, the house is now owned by...

With a two page call sheet and two pages of faxes (concerning roles being cast for this film) laid-in. A little bit of smudging to wrappers, a bit of creasing to script, some wear to the two pages of faxes, overall just about fine in near fine wrappers. With the name and address of an actor who played the role of "Sad Man" written on front wrapper, and...

BIG LEBOWSKI, THE (1998) $1,500.00

Vintage original 74 x 131" (188 x 333 cm.) standee poster, USA. Jeff Bridges, dir: Joel and Ethan Coen; Gramercy. The only poster I've ever seen which shows the film's major characters: The Dude (Jeff Bridges), The Stranger (Sam Elliott); Maude (Julianne Moore); Donny (Steve Buscemi), Jesus (John Turturro), and Walter (John Goodman). A massive, self-standing object, unlike anything else that has ever turned up.

This standee has some general signs of use, including paper tape reinforcing it on the back, wear at areas where it was originally folded for shipment; the standee has five components with cardboard support bars (three...

Vintage original 28 5/8 x 20 ¼” (73 x 51 cm.), Japan.  Charles Bukowski, Tom Waits, Barbet Schroeder, dir: John Dullaghan; Zazie Films.  Documentary about the life and work of legendary renegade Los Angeles poet Bukowski.  This film had a tiny theatrical release in the U.S.  This Japanese poster is so uncommon that I cannot trace another example of it anywhere.  Unfolded, with some horizontal creasing and light crimping at edges, NEAR FINE.

COBRA VERDE (1987) $450.00

Set of 6 vintage original 16 ½ x 24 ½” (42 x 62 cm.) photographs, Germany. Klaus Kinski, dir: Werner Herzog; Werner Herzog Filmproduktion.

Very scarce set of large-format color photographs from this film (Herzog’s last pairing with Kinski, whose emotional outbursts continually threw the production into chaos) about a slave trader, filmed in Brazil, Colombia, and Brazil.

Vintage original 30 x 40" (75 x 100 cm.) quad poster, UK. Stephen Rea, Forrest Whitaker, Jaye Davidson, dir: Neil Jordan; Polygram. Classic (and quite scarce) original British poster for this British film, about an Irish IRA member who, while in London, searches out a mysterious woman, falls in love with her, and eventually learns that he has become enraptured with a biological man. Folded, with minor light marginal creasing, NEAR FINE.

Vintage original 8 x 10” (20 x 25 cm.) photo, USA.

Very early in Dave Letterman’s career as host of LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, Divine appeared in this very distinctive wig and dress and performed a number called “Born to Be Cheap.”  Fine.

DUNE (1984)
DUNE (1984) $300.00

Set of eight (8) vintage original 18 x 26" (45 x 65 cm.) fotobusta posters, Italy. Kyle MacLachlan, Virginia Madsen Francesca Annis, Brad Dourif, Jose Ferrer, Linda Hunt, dir: David Lynch; Universal.

For the wild David Lynch adaptation from Frank Herbert, the Italian release created this set of richly-colored, large-scale dramatic images of iconic imagery from the film. Fotobustas were stored unfolded and not used. They have some edge shelf wear, particularly at their top mid edges, ABOUT FINE.

Vintage original 39 ¼ x 27 ½” (100 x 70 cm.) poster, Sweden.   Pernilla Allwin, Bertil Guve, Erland Josephson, dir: Ingmar Bergman; Sandrews.

Bergman’s last theatrical feature, a film considered by many as one of his greatest works---an autobiographical fiction, based on the unhappy childhood that he and his sister experienced after their father died, and their mother then married an extremely strict and unloving Lutheran pastor.

This poster is for the film’s original Swedish release.  Although another Swedish poster (an advance poster, lacking...
