3 ORE PER UCCIDERE [THREE HOURS TO KILL] (1954)
3 ORE PER UCCIDERE [THREE HOURS TO KILL] (1954) $1,250.00

Vintage original 39 x 54" (99 x 137 cm.) due folio / 2-fogli poster, Italy. Dana Andrews, Donna Reed, Dianne Foster, Stephen Elliott, dir: Alfred L. Werker; Columbia. A taut Western in the revenge-drama genre about a cowboy accused of murder who hides out in the desert before going back to clear his name.

Italian film poster artist Anselmo Ballester has created beautiful portraits of Andrews and Reed and played up the romantic element of the story, their love haunted by the foreboding noose. On linen. VERY GOOD.

ARENA (1953)
ARENA (1953) $250.00

Vintage original 41 x 27" (104 x 69") one sheet poster, USA. Gig Young, Jean Hagen, Polly Bergen, dir: Richard Fleischer; MGM. Promoted by MGM as the first 3-D Western, this poster, appropriately, has the expected "coming at you out of the screen" graphics. Folded, no pinholes, there is a bit of fold wear at upper fold, and a tiny tear in top blank margin, overall NEAR FINE.

Lorne Greene, Michael Landon, Dan Blocker, Pernell Roberts, dir: Various; NBC Television. One of television's most beloved long-running shows. The Western series ran between 1959-73. Week after week, the Cartwrights -- a father and three sons (each born of a different wife) shared adventures on their Ponderosa Ranch near Virginia City, NV. Much of the series was filmed at Paramount Studios backlot.

Featured in this location still are Lorne Greene, Michael Landon and Dan Blocker. The information on...

GAUNTLET, THE (1977)
GAUNTLET, THE (1977) $750.00

An original screenplay by Dennis Shryack and Michael Butler Final Draft January 31, 1977 [with revisions dated up through 2/11/77].

Clint Eastwood's sixth film as a feature film director. His career has always featured large shifts in tone and genre. His previous film was the very intense historical revenge film, The Outlaw Josie Wales, and he then shifted to The Gauntlet, a rather breezy action film in which he also stars as a cop who is assigned to escort a prostitute into custody from Las Vegas to Phoenix. Of course, there are various obstacles to her arriving alive, but the film...

HIT THE SADDLE (1937)
HIT THE SADDLE (1937) $200.00

Vintage original 11 x 14" (28 x 35 cm.) lobby card, USA. Rita Hayworth (Cansino), The Three Mesquiteers (Robert Livingston, Ray Corrigan, Max Terhune), dir: Mack V. Wright; Republic. Rita Hayworth (still Cansino) was rising to star status and her appearance already altered when she appeared in this program Western in the Three Mesquiteers-series. Here she is with Robert Livingston and Ray Corrigan. The Mesquiteers come to the rescue when a corrupt rancher causes death and havoc in attempting to capture and sell a herd of wild horses.

Of course, just the presence of Hayworth causes havoc, too. Filmed at Iverson...

MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, THE (1960)
MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, THE (1960) $450.00

Vintage original 22 x 28" (56 x 91 cm.) half sheet style B poster, USA. Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, dir: John Sturges; United Artists. For this classic American remake of Kurosawa's THE SEVEN SAMURAI (which is now a classic in its own right), the distributor created this unusual poster, with its stylized artwork on the left centering on the number "7" -- artwork which was not used in the same form on any other of the various American posters. Folded, with various small staple holes, and minor creasing, VERY GOOD.

MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, THE (1960)
MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, THE (1960) $375.00

Vintage original 22 x 14" (55 x 35 cm.) window card poster, USA. Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Eli Wallach, Robert Vaughn; dir: John Sturges; United Artists. The wonderful American version of Seven Samurai, about 7 gunmen brought to a Mexican farming village to defend them against a terrorizing bandit and his army of 40.

Really colorful art depicts all the main actors. There are pinholes at side of the top theatre information section as well as pin imprints at the bottom and center. A few scattered pinholes at each side or the poster, including inside the background of the...

MARILYN MONROE / RIVER OF NO RETURN (1954)
MARILYN MONROE / RIVER OF NO RETURN (1954) $375.00

Vintage original 10 x 8" (25 x 20 cm.) black-and-white single weight glossy silver gelatin print still photo, USA. Marilyn Monroe, Robert Mitchum, Rory Calhoun, Tommy Rettig, dir: Otto Preminger. Though Marilyn Monroe sported jeans through much of this vigorous Western, the guitar-singing Kay Weston was a saloon singer and more used to saloon costuming as Marilyn displays in still 895-NOD-17. Travilla designed her costume. Neither she nor director Preminger wanted to do the film, but the teaming of Monroe and Mitchum, the Rockie Mountain setting, Western theme and Cinemascope made it big box office.

Light diagonal crease near the top...

MARILYN MONROE, ROBERT MITCHUM / AIRPORT CANDID (1953)
MARILYN MONROE, ROBERT MITCHUM / AIRPORT CANDID (1953) $400.00

Vintage original 10 x 8" (25 x 20 cm.) double weight glossy silver gelatin print still photo, UK. Upon completion of the problem-plagued location filming of RIVER OF NO RETURN, Monroe and Mitchum returned on a plane together from Canada to Los Angeles. This rare candid was shot by a photographer for the London Bureau Planet News, Ltd. (stamped on back) and used in publications in London.

Monroe and Mitchum had known each other years before they became film stars, as Mitchum had worked with Monroe's first husband James Dougherty at Lockhead Aircraft in the early/mid-1940s. Both Preminger and Monroe did...

MOONLIGHTER, THE (1953)
MOONLIGHTER, THE (1953) $250.00

Vintage original 22 x 28" (55 x 70 cm.) half sheet poster, USA. Barbara Stanwyck, Fred MacMurray, dir: Roy Rowland; Warner Brothers. What a piece of 3-D graphic imagery this is, with both Stanwyck and MacMurray bursting out of the screen! Stanwyck is presented far more seductively than her actual character (for which she was blonde), but that's what filmmakers felt it took to draw the audience into the theatre during this time when audiences started to stay home to take part in the new revolution: television. This was the third of four films Stanwyck and MacMurray teamed for --...

NEBRASKAN, THE (1953)
NEBRASKAN, THE (1953) $200.00

Vintage original 41 x 27" (104 x 69 cm.) one sheet poster, USA. Phil Carey, Roberta Haynes, dir: Fred Sears; Columbia. If you collect 50s 3-D, this B-Western is one of the scarcer titles to try to find. On linen (trimmed to the borders of the linen, but with the poster entirely intact), with some touch-up at fold lines and at edges, VERY GOOD-.
