Brilliant tale of hostesses told with as much candor as post-Production Code Hollywood was allowed. Working girl Bette Davis displays herself in one of her most glamorous gowns on this fine Warner Brothers poster of the period. The beaded gown (represented in red on this card) was made for her by Orry-Kelly.

Vibrant Technicolor, breathless pacing, the Jack Cole dancers and charming big band style music make this Betty Grable musical a delight to this day. Waitress sisters from Texas, along with their aunt as chaperone, pose as society girls and travel to Miami to land rich husbands. Of course, they find true love!

The earliest film adaptation of any of Faulkner's works,this version of Sanctuary was at the time considered highly scandalous, with its story of a young debutante who gets kidnapped by a thug and starts to fall in love with him. This is one of the Pre-Code films which created such a furor that a new era of film censorship was the result.
