Cecil B. DeMille (director) THE TEN COMMANDMENTS (Dec 21, 1954) Film script

$4,500.00

[Los Angeles: Cecil B. DeMille], December 21, 1954. Vintage original film script, 11 x 8 1/2″ (28 x 22 cm), [xxx] pp., brad bound, mimeograph, with many pages of dated revisions on blue onionskin paper. This copy belonged to Henry Wilcoxon, an actor with a long association with DeMille going all the way back to the 1934 Cleopatra. He played the small role of Pentaur, but also served as the film’s associate producer. He has left many manuscript notes in pencil, where he changes dialogue and makes notes about possible cuts to scenes. Very good.

The script is lacking one or maybe two pages at the end. It ends as Moses charges Joshua to lead his people into Jordan.

Epic religious drama dramatizing the life of Moses, The Ten Commandments was Cecil B. DeMille’s final directorial effort before his death in 1959.
