Callas in her dressing room at La Scala as she prepares to go on stage in one of her signature roles — Cherubini’s MEDEA, in a famous performance conducted by none other than Leonard Bernstein.This photo bears the stamp on verso of Erio Piccagliani, at the time the official photographer for La Scala. There is also a notation in ink on bottom of verso “Medea Callas ‘Medea’”, which does not show through.
