William Faulkner’s fifth and final collabo- ration with director Howard Hawks was this epic set in ancient Egypt. On all of his previous outings with Hawks in the 1930s and 40s, the studio publicity department showed little interest in Faulkner, but on this film they belatedly recognized his importance, and this very ephemeral booklet (OCLC records no known copy) lavishes substantial text on Faulkner.
