Noted as copy No. 13 in manuscript ink on title page, dated January, 1987, with credits for screenwriter Susan Sandler and director Joan Micklin Silver. Internally reproduced during production, with photocopied punch holes on the left margin. Black generic card wrappers, 120 leaves, with last page of text numbered 119. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Script very good in good wrappers, with moderate loss on the rear wrapper.

Based on Susan Sandler’s 1985 play, about a young bookstore clerk’s attempts to conceal her lower-class Jewish upbringing in order to succeed in the literary world. The film is a contemporary New York romantic comedy about Isabella, a single independent woman who is caught in a romantic quandary when her grandmother hires a Jewish matchmaker to find her a husband.
