[Los Angeles: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1944]. Vintage original 10 x 13″ (25 x 32 cm.) black-and-white double weight glossy silver gelatin photo. Ink stamped 2923 on verso. Fine.

Popular songstress Ginny Simms made her MGM debut for 1944’s Broadway Rhythm, for which this photo publicized. After years of radio, recording and big band singing, notably with Kay Kyser’s orchestra, she ventured into movies. During her brief stay at MGM she was escorted about town by none other than Louis B. Mayer, who was taking a break from marriage for a few years.
