A beautiful portrait of Rita Hayworth in her now legendary transformational role, her long red hair cropped and colored platinum blonde. It was at the request of her then husband and director of the film, Orson Welles. It worked for the cold aloofness of the character Elsa Bannister but not for Rita. Soon after the film was finished so was her marriage to Welles, and back was the Rita audiences loved.
