EARLY SOUND RECORDING BOX [ca. 1930] Photo

$300.00

Los Angeles, 1930]. Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm) black-and-white double weight glossy linen-backed silver gelatin photo. Minor corner wear, about fine.

Shorts director and title writer (including the 1929 Jeanne Eagles version of The Letter) Max Blumenstock, with his script supervisor, as seen working in front of the infamous box, or blimp. In order to control early sound recording for film, technicians filmed and recorded from this contraption, limiting any kind of camera movement or movement on set.

Photo coded PSP-15303.
