MARILYN MONROE | SOMETHING’S GOT TO GIVE (1962) Rare scene photo

$750.00

[Los Angeles: 20th Century Fox, 1962]. Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm) black-and-white glossy silver gelatin photo. Crease near bottom right corner, about fine.

Interesting pre-release photo with full studio promotional text for the unfinished and never released film Something’s Got to Give, which was aborted just prior to Marilyn Monroe’s untimely death. Monroe completed several sections of the film, but even those scenes were not assembled from the rushes until after her passing.

Monroe is featured here in the scene in which her character returns home after several years marooned on an island. Of course, the family dog recognizes her. A remake of the 1940 film My Favorite Wife, the story would be filmed and released in 1963 as Move Over, Darling. Thirty-seven minutes of footage from this film were assembled for the documentary Marilyn Monroe: The Final Days in 2001.

Full studio text at bottom margin. Photo is coded 65/46.
