Vintage original 39 x 55" (100 x 140 cm.) due folio / 2-fogli poster, Italy. Arlene Dahl, Phillip Carey, Herbert Marshall, Michael Goodliffe, dir: Ken Hughes; Columbia. A vehicle for the beautiful Arlene Dahl, who was swathed in sexy clothes and placed in beautiful sets and did her best acting in the role of a girl who is set on rising from her job in a shirtwaist factory to the top -- letting nothing stand in her way... including murder.
ANATOMY OF A MURDER (1959) $4,000.00 SOLD
Vintage original 41 x 27" (104 x 69 cm.) one sheet poster, USA. James Stewart, George C. Scott, dir: Otto Preminger. This is one of the greatest of all of Saul Bass' movie posters, and I personally find it more perfectly laid out than his other great masterpiece, Vertigo. It is getting increasingly difficult to find a genuinely nice example of this poster, much less one which is unbacked and entirely unrestored, as this one is.
ANNA KARENINA (1948) $2,000.00 SOLD
Vintage original 55 x 78" (140 x 200 cm.) quattro foglio / 4-fogli poster, Italy. Vivien Leigh, Ralph Richardson, dir: Julien Duvivier; Minerva. Art by Ercole Brini. I cannot imagine that there exists anywhere a better piece of artwork representing the magnificent Vivien Leigh than this moody piece of post-impressionist artwork by Ercole Brini.

Vintage original 12 x 16” (30 x 40 cm.) pressbook, 16 pages, USA. Bette Davis, Brian Keith, Kim Hunter, Paul Kelly, dir: Daniel Taradash; Columbia. Saul Bass presented a unique ad campaign for this superb mature drama, which was a very apropos story at the time (and still very relevant in today’s political climate) about a small-town librarian who is branded as a communist by the local politicians, and thus, the townspeople when she will not withdraw a controversial book from the library’s shelves. The film was perfectly crafted in...

Set of eight (8) vintage original 11 x 14" (28 x 35 cm.) lobby cards, USA. Deborah Kerr, David Niven, Jean Seberg, Mylene Demongeot, Geoffrey Horne, Juliette Greco, dir: Otto Preminger; Columbia. One of the great auteur Preminger's most unusual, experimental films. A wonderful character study with the luminescent Jean Seberg playing a 17-year-old girl with a rich playboy father who is about to marry a woman from his past, and her displeasure with that. The original novel was by 17-year-old Francoise Sagan, and with superb acting and Preminger's creative handling (told much in color flashback scenes, with present day...

Vintage original 9 ½ x 8” (24 x 20 cm) black and white double weight glossy print still photo, USA. Jack Nicholson, Faye Dunaway, John Huston, dir: Roman Polanski; Paramount. A retouched publication production photo of the art which Richard Amsel created for the poster and print ads for this noir style film which exposed the political corruption of 1930s Los Angeles. Now considered a perfect script, there were many egos ablaze during production, but, from the chaos, a classic film was made. A rare piece of art...

Compared since its release to Harold Pinter and Samuel Beckett in terms of tone and theme, Cul-de-sac is a psychological thriller of the first order, exploring themes of horror, frustrated sexuality, and alienation -- concepts the director has mined and evolved for decades with great invention.
